Introduction

The Art Business Conference is delighted to announce our inaugural conference in Hong Kong on Wednesday 19 November.

For all those involved in buying, selling or caring for art, whether as a gallery owner, operations director, art advisor, studio manager, foundation, private collector, auctioneer, wealth manager or museum professional, the conference covers the key aspects of running an art business or collection.  

The conference will include presentations, panel discussions and Q&A's, where industry experts will share specialist advice and insight on the market, from best practice to the latest updates in legislation. 

Discussions will cover, but not be limited to, the evolving landscape of the Asian art market, the rise of Hong Kong setting new standards for the global art scene, cross-border opportunities driven by Greater Bay Area initiatives, the role of art finance in family office and wealth management strategies, innovations in luxury collecting trends, and the latest advancements in art and technology.

Meet our Conference Chair

Georgina Adam 


Georgina Adam has spent many decades writing about the art market and the arts in general. She is editor-at-large for The Art Newspaper and a contributor to the Financial Times. She lived for five years in Japan. She has written two books about the art market – Big Bucks (Lund Humphries, 2014) and Dark Side (Lund Humphries, 2018) and a third book, The Rise and Rise of Private Museums, came out in September 2021. She is a member of the International Association of Art Critics (AICA) and The International Art Market Studies Association (TIAMSA).  Georgina has a new book about NexGen Collectors published soon. 



Meet our keynote speaker


Kevin Ching    

Based in Hong Kong, Kevin Ching has served as Chairman of Christie’s Asia since May 2023. With a wealth of experience in the art and luxury industry in Asia and an exceptional network, Kevin plays an instrumental role in deepening and expanding Christie’s client relationships across the region as a member of Christie’s global Executive Management Group. He also collaborates with colleagues internationally to cultivate Asian collecting in Christie’s salerooms worldwide. 

Following Kevin’s appointment, Christie's Hong Kong presented a dedicated single-owner sale in November 2023, The Tianminlou Collection, featuring 15 exceptional pieces from one of the world’s most esteemed collections of Chinese porcelain. The dedicated auction achieved a remarkable sale total of HK$260,440,000 / US$33,550,532. Christie’s was also entrusted with the legendary Au Bak Ling Collection, which will be presented in the upcoming inaugural sale at the Henderson, showcasing one of the most comprehensive private collections of Chinese ceramics. 

Kevin has over 17 years of extensive experience in strategic business planning and client development in Asia. In his previous role as Sotheby’s Chief Executive Officer in Asia from 2006 to 2021, he was responsible for the auction house’s strategic expansion in the region, particularly into Mainland China.  

Before joining the auction industry, Kevin was a board executive director and group legal counsel at Dickson Concepts (International) Limited, where he managed legal and business affairs in luxury fashion. Prior to this, he was a partner at Johnson Stokes & Master, while serving as the Chief Representative of its Beijing Office. 

Kevin was educated in both Hong Kong and England, and holds a master’s degree in law from London University. He studied English law, Soviet law, Air and Space law as well as Customary and Modern Chinese law. In Addition to Hong Kong, he is also qualified to practise law in Singapore, England and Wales, as well as Victoria, Australia.



Meet our speakers

  Daniel R. Fung     

Daniel R. Fung comes from 50 years practice at the Bar with experience in both public and private sectors and in academia, was called to the English Bar in 1975 and the HK Bar in 1977, participated in the process of Hong Kong’s constitutional transition from British Crown Colony to a Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China as a member of the Basic Law Consultative Committee from 1985 to 1990, was appointed Queen’s Counsel in 1990, was the first person of Chinese extraction to serve as Solicitor General of Hong Kong (1994-98) doing so under the last British Governor Chris Patten and the first Chief Executive CH Tung, following which he took up successive appointments as Visiting Scholar at Harvard Law School (1998-99), Senior Visiting Scholar at Yale Law School (1999), Distinguished Fulbright Scholar (2000), Chairman of the Hong Kong Broadcasting Authority (2002-8) and Visiting Professor of Law at respectively Sun Yat Sen University (2004-7) and Peking University (2007-9).

Mr Fung served for the maximum four terms totalling 20 years as National Delegate to the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (2003-2023), Mr Fung is concurrently Vice-Chairman of Hong Kong Financial Services Development Council, Chairman Emeritus of the Peace & Development Foundation as an official partner of the United Nations Development Program, President of the International Law Association (HK Chapter), Chairman of International Bridges to Justice, Vice-President of the Academy of Experts, Founding Chair of Cambridge Global Conversations, Senior Fellow and former Vice Chairman of the Salzburg Global Seminar and serves on the boards of respectively the East West Center (2006-2022), the China Law Society and the China-US Exchange Foundation. 

Mr Fung is also a member of the HK- Asean Foundation Advisory Council and a member of the International Advisory Board at the School of Public Policy of CUHK-Shenzhen, Chairman of Social Sciences Advisory Board of Lingnan University, Honorary Lecturer at HK University Department of Professional Legal Education, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators in the UK and an accredited expert to the World Economic Forum.

Mr. Fung has been honored by the United Nations for his contribution to China’s attainment of the UN Millennium Development Goals and by the HK Government for his contribution to HK’s constitutional development.


  Rhiannon Alban-Davies     



Rhiannon Alban-Davies is the Head of Fine Art & Specie for AXAXL in Asia. She sits in Hong Kong office overseeing dedicated teams of Fine Art & Specie insurance professionals sitting in Hong Kong, Singapore and China. Soon after graduating in London, she moved to Hong Kong where she joined WTW, a global insurance brokerage firm, where she spent 11 years in Business Development and then Fine Art & Specie Insurance where she built up a team focused on servicing Museums, Galleries, Logistics Companies, Collectors and Auction Houses across the Asia region. 

Rhiannon graduated from University Colleague London (UCL) with an Undergraduate Degree in Classics, and she also holds Master’s Degrees from Kings College London and the University of Law in Intelligence & International Security and Law respectively. 


Nickos Gogolos




Nickos Gogolos is Associate Director for Collection, Archives and Library at M+ Museum in Hong Kong where he leads collections and exhibitions registration, collections information, rights, photography and digitisation, and the work of the archives, library and records teams. He has over 25 years’ experience in museums and has previously held positions in collections management and exhibition registration at Tate Modern, Museum of London and Victoria & Albert Museum. He has chaired the UK Registrars Group and lectured extensively on registration issues such as acquisitions due diligence, deaccessioning and disposals, lending and borrowing, courier training, and the role of the registrar. 


Ken Ng  



Ken Ng is a management executive with over 17 years of experience in corporate development, art & culture, luxury, and events sectors. He has played a pivotal role in large-scale art events, including Art Basel HK, Art Central, and French May. During his tenure as General Manager of the Hong Kong Tourism Board, Ken spearheaded the 'Arts in Hong Kong' campaign, effectively promoting Hong Kong as a vibrant art and cultural destination.

As General Manager of Crozier Fine Arts, Ken leads the Hong Kong office with a focus on customer-centric solutions and innovation. He is dedicated to raising the standards of the fine art logistics industry for the Hong Kong market by delivering customer experience excellence at every touch point.



Claudia Albertini  


Claudia Albertini is senior director at MASSIMODECARLO gallery in Hong Kong. With more than twenty years’ working experience in Asia, Claudia has grown into a reference figure in the contemporary  art field thanks to her insight in the Asian art scene and her connections within the region.

A sinologist trained as an Asian art specialist, Claudia holds a BA in East Asian Studies from Ca’ Foscari University (Venice, Italy), a MA in Chinese Advanced Studies from the University of Sheffield (Sheffield, UK) and completed an “Executive Education: Business Management in the Art World” with the Sotheby’s Institute of Arts in London.

Claudia has also been contributing to international publications. Her own writings have appeared in: Il Sole 24 Ore Economy Art Plus, NY Arts, Art Pulse, The Architecture Newspaper.

In 2008 she published a book “ Avatars and Antiheroes: A Guide To Chinese Contemporary Artists” with Kodansha International.

Claudia is co-president of the Hong Kong Art Gallery Association since 2023, and she has been on the board since its foundation in 2012.



Jyrki Rauhio


Jyrki Rauhio

Jyrki Rauhio, a native of Finland, has spent over 3 decades in the financial industry, half of which in Corporate and Investment Banking, and the other half in Wealth Management. Jyrki joined HSBC in November 2020 as Head of Credit Advisory Asia Pacific and during this time he has also served as the Interim Head of Private Banking for North Asia as well as the Interim Head of Wealth Planning for Asia Pacific. Prior to HSBC, Jyrki spent 26 years at Citigroup working in various coverage, product and franchise management roles in London, Helsinki, Warsaw, New York, Singapore, and Hong Kong. His last role in Citi was as Head of South Asia, Citi Private Bank.

Jyrki has served on as an Executive Committee Member, Private Bank Industry Group, Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), as well as the Private Wealth Management Association of Hong Kong. In addition, he has been a Board Member, Citicorp Investment Bank (Singapore) Limited as well as Cititrust (Singapore) Ltd.

Jyrki, who is married with a son, has a BBA from the Helsinki School of Economics and Business Administration, a MBA from The University of Chicago, and has done studies in the University of Hong Kong as well as the University of Helsinki


Rob Caldwell


Rob Caldwell is a Hong Kong-based partner with Loeb & Loeb LLP, and specialises in structured finance, credit and risk.  Rob maintains a hands-on practice as a trusted advisor representing financial institutions, sponsors and investment funds in project, structured trade and commodity finance and investment transactions throughout Asia-Pacific and has practiced law for over 36 years including in Australia, England and Hong Kong.  

With significant growth in Asia's art finance market over the last decade driven from Mainland China and Hong Kong, Rob has been active in shaping major secured art finance transactions in Asia-Pacific with leading art markets in Europe and the United States, including financings of acquisitions by Asia-based private collectors, art loans to major galleries and public exhibitions, working with sovereign indemnity programs as well as emerging art finance product and art specialist intermediaries (auction houses, art advisers, specialty insurers  and storage and logistics solutions).  Rob's clients in this sector include major private banks, private clients and foundations.  

Rob also advises opportunity funds and family offices on regulatory matters, acquisitions and special situations investments and structuring capital market solutions for private credit clients.  He has extensive experience with acquisition and financings in the aviation and mining and metals and energy sectors and regularly advises clients in the financial services industry in new technology investments and payment systems. 

Rob holds degrees from the University of Melbourne BA (Hons) / LLB and has completed post-graduate studies in international finance law.



Enid Tsui



Enid Tsui is the Arts Editor for the South China Morning Post in Hong Kong. She oversees the newspaper's coverage of visual and performing arts. Prior to becoming an arts journalist, she was the Hong Kong correspondent and Asia companies and markets editor for the Financial Times. She also worked as a radio presenter and as editor-in-chief of a Chinese corporate finance magazine. Enid has a master's degree in art history. Her book, "Art in Hong Kong: Portrait of a City in Flux", was published by Lund Humphries in January 2025.
